This material world is described as a temporary place, filled with miseries (dukḥālayam aśaśvatam).Of the seven major sources of miseries that a living entity in the material world is subjected to,list at least four. And what is Kṛṣṇa’s solution to overcome these miseries?

In the Bhagavad Gita, the material world is indeed described as a place of temporary existence filled with miseries (dukḥālayam aśaśvatam). The seven major sources of miseries are:

1. Birth: The process of birth is painful and traumatic.
2. Disease: The body is susceptible to various diseases.
3. Old age: As the body ages, it undergoes physical deterioration and various ailments.
4. Death: The inevitable end of life is considered a great suffering.

These are four of the seven major sources of miseries. The other three are lamentation, illusion, and fear.

As for Kṛṣṇa’s solution to overcome these miseries, it is to transcend the material world and attain a spiritual existence. This can be achieved through devotion and surrender to Kṛṣṇa, leading to liberation (moksha) from the cycle of birth and death. Kṛṣṇa advises in the Bhagavad Gita to perform one's duty without attachment to the results, to see the divine presence in all beings, and to perceive the impermanence of the material world. This path of self-realization and God-realization is the way to overcome the miseries of material existence.
