Cerebellum: The cerebellum is located at the base of the brain, just above the brain stem, behind the brain's larger part (the cerebrum). Its main functions are to coordinate and regulate muscular activity. It plays a crucial role in balance, motor control, and the integration of sensory perception.

Amygdala: The amygdala is located deep within the brain's medial temporal lobe. It's part of the limbic system, a group of structures involved in emotion, memory, and behavior. The amygdala is involved in the processing of emotions such as fear, anger, and pleasure. It also plays a role in controlling aggression.

Hippocampus: The hippocampus is located in the brain's medial temporal lobe, forming a part of the limbic system. It plays essential roles in the consolidation of information from short-term memory to long-term memory, and in spatial memory that enables navigation.

Hypothalamus: The hypothalamus is located below the thalamus, just above the brain stem. It links the nervous system to the endocrine system via the pituitary gland. Its main functions are to control body temperature, hunger, thirst, fatigue, sleep, and circadian rhythms.

Neocortex: The neocortex is the largest part of the cerebral cortex, which is the brain's outer layer. It covers the brain's two hemispheres. It is involved in higher functions such as sensory perception, generation of motor commands, spatial reasoning, conscious thought, and language.
