Solution

The formation of urine in the kidney involves the following processes arranged as:

  1. Glomerular Filtration: This is the first step in the formation of urine. Blood enters the kidneys through the renal artery, which splits into many capillaries associated with the glomerulus. The high pressure in the glomerulus forces small molecules such as water, glucose, amino acids, sodium and urea into the Bowman's capsule. This process is called glomerular filtration.

  2. Reabsorption: The filtrate then moves into the proximal tubule, where most of the water, glucose, potassium and amino acids are reabsorbed back into the blood. The filtrate then moves into the Loop of Henle where more water and sodium ions are reabsorbed. Finally, in the distal tubule, further reabsorption of water and sodium ions takes place.

  3. Tubular Secretion: This is the final step in the formation of urine. The walls of the distal tubule and collecting duct are selectively permeable to ions and urea. These substances are secreted from the blood into the filtrate. This process helps in maintaining the pH and ionic balance of body fluids.

So, the correct arrangement is Glomerular filtration, reabsorption and tubular secretion.
