Ideation is the process where you generate ideas and solutions through sessions such as Sketching, Prototyping, Brainstorming, Brainwriting, Worst Possible Idea, and a wealth of other ideation techniques. It involves both creativity and analysis to come up with unique solutions to problems. Prototyping, on the other hand, is the process of creating a functional mock-up of the proposed solution. This could be a simple sketch or a fully functional digital model. The purpose of a prototype is to test the ideas and concepts, identify potential issues, and gather feedback from users.

If I were to do anything differently in this process, I would place more emphasis on user testing during the prototyping phase. Often, designers can get so caught up in their ideas that they forget to check whether the solution actually meets the needs of the users. By incorporating more user testing, we can ensure that the final product is not only innovative but also user-friendly and effective in solving the problem at hand. Additionally, I would also encourage more collaboration and diversity during the ideation phase. Different perspectives can lead to more unique and creative solutions.
