Use this text to answer the question that follows.School Uniforms     For much of the 20th century in the United States, school uniforms were common in private schools. These days, however, more public schools are seeing the advantages of having students dress in school uniforms. After considering the advantages that school uniforms have, many teachers, administrators, parents, and young people are siding with uniforms.     Public schools, like America itself, are supposed to be "melting pots." Children of all races, religions, backgrounds, and income levels go to school together, play together, and bond with each other. Uniforms help accomplish this. It becomes difficult to determine who is rich and who is poor, for example, based on what people wear. Even more importantly, uniforms not only help erase the differences that students may have from one another, they help reinforce what they have in common—the shared experience of being students at the same school.     Parents of students who wear uniforms often speak of the relief they enjoy from not having to worry about the huge wardrobes necessary to keep children up to date and in style. With uniforms, school becomes a true learning environment rather than a fashion show.     Students, too, report higher self-esteem and better school performance when they no longer need to spend so much time, energy, and money worrying about how they look, and how they are being judged by others based on appearance. In a time when the latest popular footwear can cost hundreds of dollars, it makes sense for schools to reduce problems such as discrimination by promoting uniforms.     Uniforms may require students to give up some of the individuality they express through fashion, but this allows students to express more of their individuality in areas like academic excellence. Ultimately uniforms help schools do the job of making students the best students they can be.How does the author support the claim that parents are in favor of school uniforms?*by listing the reasons why parents do not like fashion showsby describing how parents like not having to buy large amounts of clothing as trends changeby naming the different kinds of stores where parents can buy the uniformsby explaining how parents use lots of energy getting their children ready for school each day
