Solution

The Transformational Leadership style is one that I find particularly interesting in the context of nursing. This style is characterized by leaders who inspire and motivate their team members to exceed their own self-interests for the greater good of the team or organization (Weberg, 2010).

Research has shown that transformational leadership in nursing can lead to improved patient outcomes, increased job satisfaction among nurses, and a more positive work environment (Boamah, Spence Laschinger, Wong, & Clarke, 2018). This leadership style encourages innovation and creativity, which can be beneficial when conducting a research study as it can lead to new ideas and approaches.

However, there are also potential disadvantages to this leadership style. Transformational leaders can sometimes focus too much on the big picture and neglect the details, which can be problematic in a research study where attention to detail is crucial (Weberg, 2010). Additionally, this style requires a significant amount of energy and commitment from the leader, which may not always be sustainable in a high-stress environment like nursing.

In conducting my research, I used databases such as PubMed and CINAHL to find peer-reviewed articles on the topic of transformational leadership in nursing. I used search terms such as "transformational leadership," "nursing," and "research" to find relevant articles.
