However, unlike GCV, this value does not include the latent heat of vaporization of water in the combustion products. It assumes the water in the combustion products remains as vapor and the heat in the water vapor is not recovered.
In summary, the main difference between GCV and NCV is whether they include the energy in the water vapor in the combustion products. GCV includes this energy, while NCV does not.
