Solution

AutoText and AutoCorrect are two very useful features in MS-Word that can help to increase productivity and efficiency.

  1. AutoText: This feature allows you to create, store and reuse text that you frequently use in your documents. For example, if you often use a certain phrase or paragraph in your documents, you can save it as an AutoText entry and then insert it into your document whenever you need it, instead of typing it out each time. Here's how you can use it:

    • To create an AutoText entry, select the text that you want to save, go to the Insert tab, click on the Quick Parts button in the Text group, and then click on AutoText. Then, click on Save Selection to AutoText Gallery, give your entry a name, and click OK.

    • To insert an AutoText entry into your document, go to the Insert tab, click on the Quick Parts button in the Text group, and then click on AutoText. Then, click on the name of the entry that you want to insert.

  2. AutoCorrect: This feature automatically corrects common typing errors and replaces certain text as you type. For example, if you type "teh", it will automatically correct it to "the". It can also replace abbreviations with full text. For example, you can set it to replace "btw" with "by the way". Here's how you can use it:

    • To add an AutoCorrect entry, go to the File tab, click on Options, and then click on Proofing. Then, click on the AutoCorrect Options button, type the text that you want to replace in the Replace box, type the text that you want to replace it with in the With box, and click Add.

    • To remove an AutoCorrect entry, go to the File tab, click on Options, and then click on Proofing. Then, click on the AutoCorrect Options button, select the entry that you want to remove, and click Delete.

These features can save you a lot of time and help you to avoid mistakes in your documents.
