What do you understand by the Census night?

Census night refers to a specific date on which a census takes place. It is the reference point for all the data collected during the census. All the information gathered, such as the number of people in a household, their ages, occupations, etc., is supposed to reflect the situation as it exists on the census night. This date is chosen by the census organization and is usually a time when it is believed that people are most likely to be at home. The term "Census night" is used because traditionally, census enumerators would visit households during the evening.
