Where are the chloroplasts located in plant cells?

Chloroplasts are located in the cytoplasm of plant cells. They are usually found in high numbers in leaf cells, which are exposed to sunlight. The chloroplasts are surrounded by a double membrane and have their own DNA. Inside the chloroplasts, there are numerous stacks of thylakoids, which are the sites of photosynthesis. The space within the thylakoids is called the lumen, and the space between the thylakoids and the inner membrane is called the stroma. The stroma contains enzymes, ribosomes, and DNA, which are used in the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis.
