Solution

The total momentum of the system (firework) before and after the explosion remains the same due to the law of conservation of momentum.

The initial momentum of the firework can be calculated using the formula:

Momentum = mass x velocity

Substituting the given values:

Momentum = 1.5 kg x 25 m/s = 37.5 kg.m/s

Therefore, the total momentum of all the pieces after the firework explodes is also 37.5 kg.m/s.
