2. Minicomputers: These are mid-sized computers. In terms of power, minicomputers lie between the microcomputer and the mainframe computer. They are capable of supporting multiple users at once, and they often serve as servers in business networks.

3. Mainframe computers: These are large and powerful systems used by large businesses and government organizations. They are capable of processing and storing a large amount of data quickly. Mainframes can support hundreds or thousands of users simultaneously. They are used for large-scale operations such as census, industry and consumer statistics, and financial transaction processing.

4. Supercomputers: These are the most powerful computers in terms of processing speed and data storage. They are used for complex applications that require immense mathematical calculations. Supercomputers are used for tasks such as weather forecasting, climate research, oil and gas exploration, and physical simulations (such as simulations of nuclear tests).

Each category of digital computer systems has distinguishing features based on their processing power, storage capacity, and the number of users they can support at a time.
