Solution

a) The electrolyte she should use is Silver Nitrate (AgNO3).

b) The reaction taking place at the cathode is the reduction of silver ions to silver metal. This can be represented by the equation: Ag+ + e- → Ag

c) At the anode, the silver metal is oxidized to silver ions. This can be observed as the silver anode slowly dissolving into the electrolyte solution. The equation for this reaction is: Ag → Ag+ + e-

d) If Nandini interchanges the terminals to which the bracelet and silver plate are connected, the silver will be deposited on the new cathode (which was previously the anode). The bracelet, now connected to the anode, will start to dissolve into the electrolyte solution. This is because during electrolysis, reduction occurs at the cathode (where metal is deposited), and oxidation occurs at the anode (where metal dissolves).
