(a) Copy the data from the next node of X to X. This essentially overwrites the data in X with the data from the next node.

(b) Delete the next node of X. This effectively removes the next node from the list, and since its data was copied to X, the overall data of the list remains the same.

The size of the linked list (whether it's even or odd) does not affect the ability to delete the node X. Similarly, whether X is the first node or not is irrelevant since we don't have a pointer to the head node. The only condition is that X should not be the last node in the list.
