The parents of Heracles, also known as Hercules in Roman mythology, are Zeus and Alcmene. Zeus is the king of the gods in Greek mythology, while Alcmene is a mortal woman. Zeus, in the guise of Alcmene's husband Amphitryon, seduced her and thus Heracles was born.
