Mubtilaat-us-Siyaam refers to the actions that invalidate the fast in Islam. Here are three of them:

  1. Eating and Drinking: Intentionally consuming food or drink during the hours of fasting invalidates the fast. This includes any form of nourishment that enters the body, regardless of whether it is nutritious or not.

  2. Intentional Vomiting: If a person intentionally causes themselves to vomit, their fast is considered broken. However, if one vomits unintentionally, their fast is still valid.

  3. Sexual Intercourse: Engaging in sexual intercourse during the hours of fasting invalidates the fast. The person is required to make up for the fast and also pay a penalty known as "kaffarah".
